Opportunities to help the Tucson Community

We have partnered for many years with a local program that provides after school tutoring for refugees in the Tucson community. This program is run by the Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS) and takes place at Catalina High School. Please note that MathCats has no religious affiliations and none are required to take part in tutoring. The tutoring is purely for the academic benefit of the students and not associated with any religion. The current plan with COVID is to host tutoring online. This page will become updated with relevant information for taking part as it becomes available.

In the past we have worked with local libraries and schools as part of several outreach programs. Again, COVID has somewhat complicated things and the current plan is to develop online activities in lieu of in-person ones. This page will become updated with relevant information for taking part as it becomes available.

We have also proudly participated in the Tucson Festival of Books, but sadly we will have to wait and see if it is able to take place. Thank you for your patience.
